July 15, 2025: More than the Overall Classification -which, given the vast range of cars spanning from 1919 to 1981, makes balanced evaluations quite tricky- it’s the specific class rankings that truly reveal the spirit of Modena Cento Ore. Full credit goes nonetheless to the overall classification, where older cars like the late-1930s BMW 328 and the 1950s Lancia Aurelia B20 GT came out on top in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, it was the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA that stole the show, taking the top three spots and proving to be fierce competitors and true standouts.
The thrilling contest among cars built up to 1965 always features two regular protagonists: the Jaguar E-Type and the Shelby Cobra. While the Cobra triumphed in 2019, it was the Jaguars that claimed victory in 2020 and 2021, outperforming formidable rivals like the Aurelia B20 GT, the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, and the no less iconic Porsche 904 Carrera GTS.
The class for cars produced between 1966 and 1981 has seen a variety of models alternate in dominance, including the Porsche 911 SC and Carrera 3.0 RSR, the AC Cobra, the Ford Escort RS 1800, and the Alfa Giulia GTAm 1750. Truly, a thrilling competition.
In the regularity ranking, as always, a wide variety of models took part, though Porsche -with many 356s among them- dominated. Surprises included a beautiful Alpine Renault A110, a few Ford Mustangs, and the ever-present Shelby Cobras.
