Modena Cento Ore 2023: Second Leg

The Magione Circuit, in the heart of Italy

October 12, 2023: The four-wheeled adventure of the twenty-third edition of Modena Cento Ore continues, as yesterday saw the crews push further on their journey towards Modena with a particularly intense and exciting second day of the stage.

The route unfolded through Tuscany and Umbria, magnificent regions in the heart of Italy, traversing wild nature, historic villages, and the famous cypress-lined avenues.

The second day of the stage was immediately inaugurated by two particularly challenging Special Stages, the first in Scansano and the second in the wild nature of Monte Amiata. After competing among hills and mountains, the crews descended and continued their journey through the historic centers of Montalcino and San Quirico d’Orcia, known for their famous wines and iconic cinematic landscapes; here, the crews were able immerse themselves in the most authentic Tuscan atmosphere.

After experiencing some of the world’s most beloved views, the participants dedicated their afternoon to the thrill of circuit racing, with the finish at the Magione Circuit. Here, the cars were divided into the Competition and Regularity sections for the second round of races. The Competition unfolded over three turns of free practices, followed by three Grand Prix, meanwhile the Regularity saw the participants challenge themselves in an exciting average speed trial.

The cars then headed to Perugia to conclude the second day of Modena Cento Ore in an unforgettable setting. As a matter of fact, the evening took place in the heart of the city, in the charming Cloister of the Monumental Complex of Santa Giuliana, a 12th-century Benedictine convent that now houses the Foreign Language School of the Army (SLEE).

The start of the third stage was this morning at 7:30 from Piazzale Umbria Jazz, with an expected departure from the Laguna di Orbetello at 7:40 in the morning. The crews will cross Tuscany to reach Umbria, where they will compete at the homonymous circuit and stay in Perugia.
